Alarm signaled to EL.AS. when a citizen passing in Kallithea accidentally discovered a suspicious box with three gas canisters.
In the cardboard box, which was found next to the garbage on Matzagriotaki Street, there were three gas canisters with cables, but it does not seem, according to the first information, that it was a complete mechanism, since there was no connection. Sources of EL.AS. consider this to be a “fictitious” mechanism.
However, because the area found adjoins the house of the Minister of Civil Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, the road was blocked and the pyrotechnics transferred the box with the gas cans to the forensic laboratories.

“At approximately 18:15 today, a private individual found a cardboard box containing (3) bottles of butane (gas canisters) on Matzagriotaki street in Kallithea, near the garbage container, which were tied with a rope, without any connection.
The box was received by a unit of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service. The case is being investigated. ”
