An alarm sounded on Wednesday afternoon, as around 35 positive cases were found in a total of 70 samples at a nursing home in Attica where coronavirus tests were carried out.
According to the information, the nursing home is located near the Agios Panteleimon area.
Of course, the nursing home was immediately closed and both Sotiris Tsiodras and Nikos Hardalias are in a hurry.
It is recalled that for nursing homes the health authorities have taken special restrictive measures for the protection of guests.
In fact, yesterday the Vice Minister of Civil Protection had announced that from August 31 to September 20, 101 inspections were carried out in nursing homes, during which 20 infractions were registered and 24 fines were imposed for non-compliance with restrictive measures.
In 354 the new cases
Reduced compared to yesterday, but particularly high cases occur today in Greece. Specifically, EODY announced 354 new cases of the deadly virus in the country, of which 56 are associated with known outbreaks and 23 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways.
It is noted that to the 23 who were identified at the entrance gates of our country, there are another 6 who came voluntarily for inspection, raising the number of imported cases to 29.
Regarding the distribution of cases, Attica is for the umpteenth day in the “eye” of the cyclone with 195 cases, while Thessaloniki has only 12.
Pella’s cases are alarmingly high, where 13 were detected, while 10 are located in Karditsa.

A 18,475 total cases
Thus, the total number of cases is 18,475, of which 56.1% are men, while 2,927 (15.8%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 7,598 (41.1%) are related to an already known case.
In addition, 78 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 69 years. 22 (28.2%) are women and the rest are men. 87.2% of
intubated, has an underlying disease, or is 70 years of age or older. 212 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
Finally, we have 3 more deaths registered and 391 deaths in total in the country. 144 (36.8%) women and the rest men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 78 years and 96.7% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.

The average age of the cases is 39 years (range 0 to 102 years), while the average age of death is 78 years (range 25 to 102 years). The age distribution of (a) total cases, (b) cases that resulted in death, and (c) patients treated by intubation is as follows:
Geographic dispersion
The map shows the geographical distribution of total COVID-19 cases (since the beginning of the epidemic) by Regional Unit of the country, based on the declared address of permanent residence of the patient, or the address of temporary residence for tourists and others temporary residents in Greece. It includes both cases with a travel history (“imported”) and cases with possible national transmission.
