These are the elements of the final of Volos:

THIS IS HOW THEY PLAYED:

1. THE “HIT” OF RANZELOVIC

AEK wanted to “hit” from the left at the start of the match. Bruno, who is not a right back but as expected to start there, responded very well against Livagia. Olympiakos was the team that made the first final of the final, with Masoura and Arabi, but also the one that opened the scoring. Livagia made a mistake, Kamara took advantage of it and passed the ball beautifully to Radzelovic. The Serbian shot through the area and to the right and opened the scoring in the 9th minute (1-0).

Before the Serbian scored, Oliveira in the 7th minute fell in the Olympiakos box under pressure from Bouhalakis, but there was no violation according to Kuipers who was next to the phase.

And in the 8th minute a great opportunity was lost for the Union 1-0, but Ba served before the ball crossed the line. After the goal conceded by AEK, he took over the circulation and tried long shots to “hit” the infinite Tzolakis. It is indicative that Verde even took a direct corner, but the 17-year-old was present.

2. THE “OBJECTIVE” OF TZOLAKIS AND THE ARABI OPPORTUNITY

In minute 25 the possession of the ball was 52% in favor of AEK, in minute 41 59% and in the end of the first half 61%. AEK saw that Bruno responded very well defensively, counting on the support of Radzelovic, and from minute 25 he decided to attack on the right, from the side that Torosidis defended.

The cracks may have been caused from there, but Olympiakos managed to keep their home intact. There were moments in the defense phase when the rojiblancos played with three blocks (Bruno with Ba-Cisse) and the right-back Ranzelovic. Fantastic energy from Arabi was registered in the 35th minute, impressively avoiding Bakakis twice, but his place went to the left crossbar. Vangelis Marinakis applauded him and monologue: “Put it on, player” ….

Tzolakis, who made a great appearance, said “no” to Mandalos at 42 ‘. The 45-minute final saw AEK with eight finals (half at home) and Olympiakos six (three at home).

3. THE PENALTY REJECTED BY TSINTOTAS

The second part started unchanged and with a great opportunity lost by Masouras. In minute 49, the international full-back found himself before Tsintotas, after a cross from Valbouena and a pass from El Arabi, but the AEK goalkeeper defeated him.

In the 53rd minute, the Union strongly protested the ousting of Simoes by Kamaras on the outskirts of the large area, but Kuipers did not attribute an infraction to him and in the next phase, Olympiakos won a clear penalty, for marking Bakakis in Masouras (even the epikalamida), after a great pass from Kamaras.

However, El Arabi made a poor execution in the 57th minute and Tsintotas, who did not choose a corner but stayed in place, kicked it out.

This was followed in the 1960s by a phase that sparked protests. Mandalos, who had a card in the 55th minute, recklessly extended his hand to Valbouena’s neck.

The Frenchman vigorously demanded the removal of the AEK leader when he got off the pitch, but Kuipers made recommendations to the 35-year-old “rojiblanco”.

4. WITH THE LEFT BACK OF CISE

Carrera made a double change in the 62nd minute, launching Paulinho and Albani in the place of Bakakis and Albani, while a minute earlier Tzolakis fell and stopped Livagia’s shot, still showing stability. As time passed, the Carrera team increased their pressure. Martins’ first move was for Cafu to replace Valbouena, in an effort to bolster his midfield. And a little later he took Torosidis out, put Semedos, putting Cisse as a left back!

In the minutes that followed, Olympiakos kept it 0-1 with a good defensive performance and with Tzolakis stopping in the 92nd minute and Macheiras. Earlier, in the 88th minute, El Arabi could have finished the match, but his shot was blocked by Tsintotas. The Moroccan could very well give in to Kamaras to simplify things. Kuipers whistled the final at 90 ‘+ 6’ and the ‘rojiblancos’ got the 18th double in their history, with MVP Randzelovic.
