A restless and persevering Greek, without scientific knowledge, but with courage, strong will and creativity “audacityHe is preparing, in a few days, to present the first, as he says, a two-story habitable house printed with a 3D printer in Europe, while the next step has already been launched, which is the energy autonomy of the space.
THE George Staikos, owner of a construction company in Beckum, Germany, managed to coordinate a supergroup, bend all the resistance of the German government and is now ready to press “print” to begin printing the three-dimensional design of the luxurious duplex. Only the order of printing is not given to the classic home printer, but to a huge machine, which instead of ink prints with concrete.
“The 3D printer takes the data that we give it and makes the model a reality at the scale that it is given. It runs a tour over the plot we want to build this duplex, leaving the special-use cement in its wake, while its movements “respect” every detail of the plan.George Staikos told the Athenian-Macedonian news agency.
In each repetition of the tour, the house under construction rises at two points. “At first the exterior and interior walls are printed, while, as in the drawing, the points that will later be covered with insulating materials or the electrical installations will be left empty”, Explain.
In the next few days the first level of the house will be ready, while in less than a month it will be completely finished. The start-up of this difficult company focused attention on the Greek businessman, who “Ruthlessly” he pursued his dream.
George Staikos, 38, hails from Volakas in Drama. He spent his childhood as a carpenter, with Paschalis’ grandfather, who was a carpenter. At age fourteen he moved to Beckum, Germany, a small town north of North Rhine-Westphalia And since then he has been working in his family business, a construction company for remodeling purposes, which is now 27 years old.
All these years he has been visited by many innovative ideas, but he could not implement them, because people in key positions did not show confidence in him, since his ideas were irrelevant to his cognitive and professional subject.
The difference was made by the outgoing mayor of Bekum (he lost in the recent elections and will serve until October 31, 2020), whom Mr. Staikos addressed two years ago. “I asked him if he was willing to support my ideas, which he would implement for free. He was very positive and immediately gave me the green light.”, reports.
His vision was great and his originality lies in the fact that the house he presents is both two-story and habitable. As he himself says, printing presses in Europe are usually done in the context of a demonstration, to publicize the technology of the future, but also to gain experience. In addition, in most cases they are single-story, rarely have the proper permits to stay indoors and have never been granted a two-story residence.
“I created the team that – apart from me – is made up of the owner of the 3D printer, the architect, the company that uses the materials we use and the owner of the plot where the project is carried out,” says George Staikos, citing the sequence of events: “We made a presentation to the municipality, then we obtained the approval of the urban planning, but the issue” stumbled “in the Ministry of Infrastructure, since there was no relevant legislation that would allow this project. With patience and a lot of pressure, in less than a year the permits came out, all the required studies were prepared, the materials were certified and the duplex is currently being built ”. It is noted that all those who participate in this project offer their services non-profit, while all the materials are sponsorship products collected by him.
The persistent Draminos managed to demonstrate his skills, something that now paves the way for him to move forward with other ambitious plans, such as the energy slabs. “The exterior of the printed house will be surrounded by paving slabs, which will actually be photovoltaic panels. During the day they will collect light, at night they will be illuminated around the perimeter, in the winter they will be heated so that the snow that falls on them melts and with the excess energy it can charge even the owner’s electric car ”., emphasizes Mr. Staikos, who has already presented the corresponding file for the specific patent. What he also wants is to create something great in his home country. “I hope to promote the plates for many uses, including in Greece, as they can be used as materials for the construction of bike lanes, sidewalks and even as a base for charging drones.”
