He pulled out a razor and injured himself in front of a police station in Thessaloniki, to protest against the ongoing prosecution against him.
An episodic protest by a 32-year-old man from Syria took place on Saturday night in eastern Thessaloniki.
At around 23:00, the man left the Charilaou police station and started screaming and creating tension.
He then expressed his intention to hurt himself.
According to the information, the name of Syros, 32, is involved in a car theft and break-in case.
The man protested in front of the Police Department because he was being unfairly persecuted, and the police asked him to calm down.
Not only did he not listen to the police, but he took out a knife that he had brought with him and injured himself in various parts of his body.
The commander of the Charilaou Security Department managed to pull out his knife and with the help of other policemen who had rushed to the scene, asked him to remain calm until the ambulance arrived.
A little later, the man was picked up by an EKAB ambulance and taken to Papanikolaou hospital.
