Former bodyguard Ellen DeGeneres made some revelations about the character and behavior of the famous presenter in an interview with Fox News.
The bodyguard worked with the presenter and his wife, Portia DeRossi, at the 2014 Academy Awards and described the experience as “humiliating”.
Tom Majercak said he was hired to protect DeGeneres, his mother and wife, on the night of the 86th Academy Awards, which were presented by DeGeneres, but also at other events before and after that night.
Majercak was the “top operations manager” for security industry specialists, who provided protection for celebrities, as well as companies like Apple, Twitter, and Google.
But Majercak says his experience with DeGeneres was far from “ideal.” “I was holding them by the hand to go through large groups of people. Ellen is the only person I was responsible for and I have worked with many celebrities who never took the time to greet me.” The bodyguard claims that DeRossi was “very nice and talked to him,” but things got worse when she introduced him to the presenter. “Ellen gave me a slanting look and didn’t even greet me or thank me for protection. She was cold and her behavior was humiliating, she behaved differently with the people in her circle.”
Majercak told Fox News that during the Governors Ball party, only celebrities who had previously been approved by DeGeneres could come to her table to speak to her. The bodyguard decided to speak after reports of the past few days, which spoke about the presenter’s misbehavior to his associates.
“It bothered me for many years. I see a man who stands out as an ‘enlightened’ and positive personality, who is amazing and everyone loves and admires her, but actually when you meet him you see that this is not the case,” he said.
