The Italian government is preparing to pass additional financial measures to support citizens and businesses affected by the state of emergency due to the coronation, which will reach 55 billion euros.
According to information on Italian public television Rai, € 7 billion will be allocated to support freelancers and those working with a service card.
At the same time, there is an intention to extend the layoff ban until July. More than a billion euros are also destined for families who do not have other aid. It is estimated that five hundred euros will be given (over two months) to two million residents. The unemployment fund, financed by more than seven million Italians, is expected to be financed with 15 billion euros.
To these measures, the Conte government intends to include a subsidy of up to 400 euros for domestic workers who have lost their jobs or even part of their earnings due to the health crisis.
According to the information so far, the validity of the six hundred euro bonus will be extended to families with young children who have stayed at home, due to the interruption of school classes.
For all permanent Italian and foreign residents working on fixed-term contracts, these new measures finally provide for the temporary “freezing” of these contracts and the resumption of employment when the companies they work with are opened.
