With another operation by the Municipality of Athens, the graffiti and label cleaning continued in one of the most central and busiest parts of the city, Evangelismos Park.

The Municipality of Athens continues the interventions against graffiti that are being developed by the people from the Cleaning Directorate and the special workshops. Today, Evangelismos Park in Vas. Sofías, in front of the country’s largest hospital, which is currently a benchmark for fighting the coronavirus pandemic, is now clean and free of dozens of unsightly labels.

Specifically, the cleaning operation of the stone fence of the Park located in the 1st Municipal Community, in Kolonaki, next to the Metro station, has been completed.

The anti-graffiti intervention took place on the 150-meter-long stone wall that stretches along Vasilissis Sofias Avenue from I. Gennadiou Street to Marasli Street. The duration of the action was three days to remove all the graffiti material that has been covering the stones for years, while 80 liters of special anti-graffiti material and a large amount of water from the pressing machines were used.

Planning for anti-graffiti interventions is intensifying in the coming period, especially in crowded areas of the city. As the mayor of Athens, Costas Bakogiannis, points out, “the operations against the miserable image and the pollution that some people are trying to impose in Athens continue at a more intense rate. We said that when we leave our houses, the city will be better and we will fight for this to happen “.
