Maximou and the Ministry of Civil Protection may have done everything they could to bury the Fourthiotis problem, but as the tangle unfolds, even bigger questions arise.
In an interview with Document Former Labor Minister Giannis Vroutsis confirms (without naming him) Fourthiotis’s attempt to extract a lot of money from the “SYN-Ergasia” program, while also making revelations that will be discussed.
As reported by “Ef.Syn”. in report on friday, Menios Fourthiotis, allegedly tried to raise a large amount of money from the program created due to a pandemic by declaring fictitious high wages, while allegedly trying to do a similar stunt for someone else.
Giannis Vroutsis confirms the “Ef.Syn” report. and his Document, pointing out that the scam was perceived by the services and by the then minister himself due to an error by the accountant M. Fourthiotis and for this reason the legislation was modified to stop such attempts.
However, the ND parliamentary representative, who was replaced by the Labor Minister shortly after the appearance of the specific cabinet, goes one step further and speaks of threats from Menios Fourthiotis.
He characteristically says “I’m crazy about this guy. He came to the ministry and kicked in doors. He came with braves. He threatened the general secretaries. The officials came crying because he told them we would adore him. We are talking about decline.”
Finally, the former minister points out that his case generated political costs.
