The retail trade opens from Monday in all the territory except in the regions of Thessaloniki, Kozani and Acaya. In addition, inter-municipal movements are allowed throughout the territory.
Stores will open by phone appointment to pick up inside (click store) or outside store (click distance) and with 3-hour “cutters”. The decisions of the committee have caused discomfort both in the merchants of the areas that will not open, as in the large chain stores (IKEA, Jumbo etc.).
How citizens will buy
Citizens will send an SMS with their name and address to 13032 to be able to go to their purchases where they require it and outside the limits of the municipalities, but within their regional unit. They will have three hours at their disposal for purchases, while SMS can only be sent once a day. If someone tries to send a second message on the same day, they will receive a negative response instead of the usual confirmation.
Stores can only receive one customer for every 25 m2. of your store with a maximum of 20 customers, even if they are very large spaces. Purchases, if not paid electronically, should only be made by card.
The stores that open from Monday are the following:
- the neighborhood shops
- large chain stores, but not located in a mall
- the large chains of toys, household appliances and others
- Department stores that do not have other stores inside, that is, they do not function as shopping centers. Instead, stores in stores, outlets, shopping centers and discount towns will remain closed.
It is observed that for the transition to supermarkets and other grocery stores, the sending of code 2 to 13033 and the restriction of movement within the municipality or at a distance of 2 kilometers from the consumer’s home is still in force.
No stores will open in Thessaloniki, Kozani, Achaia.
As announced by Civil Protection, the opening of retail trade in these three regions is suspended until Monday, April 12.
“After an extraordinary meeting of the National Committee for the Protection of Public Health against the Covid-19 coronavirus that took place yesterday, Friday, April 2 and taking into account the particularly worrying epidemiological picture presented by the Regional Units of Thessaloniki, Kozani and Acaya, Se it decided to suspend the operation on Monday, April 5 in those three IPs and until Monday, April 12 ”.
The Vice Minister of the Interior, Stelios Petsas, in statements to SKAI, stated that the reason is the growing trend and some local characteristics of the specific areas. In the rest of the regions, on the contrary, a stabilizing trend in the epidemiological burden was observed.
