Mathilde Maggira gave an interview to the magazine “7 DAYS TV” and revealed that she had been sexually harassed when she lived in Xanthi, when she was only 18 years old. «Before I became a professional actor, I was sexually harassed. The city’s amateur theater club in which I participated then organized a dance and invited to the event a well-known protagonist who is no longer alive, and he came with his assistant who is still alive – and as the universe sees and punishes, he never did nothing great theatrically. In the show I did a series of imitations, from Thymios Karakatsanis to Dina Konsta, and although they would see our work that same night, they asked me to come to the hotel to show them what I was going to present to them. Initially I reacted and told the manager “as our guests are, they will see my pieces during the dance.”

Anyway, in order not to spoil anyone’s assent, I went to the hotel. There the actor’s assistant closed the door of the room without realizing it and began to caress me saying “But what talent you have.” I reacted immediately and asked him to take his hand off me. Then he began to be satisfied with himself and he would say to me “Please let me look at you”. I was crying and looking for a way out of the room. Until I jumped off the balcony I thought. In the end I managed to get out. Shocked and confused, I went direct and told both the club president and my father. At night the dancing was normal. “I was sitting next to the big name and they took me to do my number, as if nothing had happened,” the actress initially said.
“Years later, through psychotherapy, I realized that this fact pushed me to put more of my masculine side at work, adopting a behavior reminiscent of a man. I buried my feminine side, maybe that’s why I haven’t found anything similar in my career since then. I did it unconsciously, as a defense. Unconsciously, my behavior changed to protect myself. “Now, with the allegations of abuse, what I experienced automatically came to mind,” he added.
