“The measures work, but the virus moves faster”

Talking to “K”The president of the Panhellenic Medical Association, member of the Expert Committee for the new coronavirus, Athanasios Exadaktylos, stated -among other things- that “we must know that we are living in a time in which fatigue has affected everyone’s crisis. We have the feeling that the measures do not work. It is not exactly like that. In Attica, the number of new cases over ten days has stabilized, although there is a clear burden on the health system, which always follows new diagnoses. In proportion to its population, Attica is not the largest in this pandemic. Last November in Thessaloniki we had 900 cases per day. At this level, by analogy, Attica never came. We must also remember that we are now fighting a faster moving virus (due to the British strain). So the measures work, but we certainly don’t have the results that we would like. “
