The focal depth of the new earthquake is estimated at 13.8 km.
Beyond Thessaly, the vibration was felt, according to testimonies, in Katerini, Patras, but also in Attica.
A few minutes later a vibration of 4 Richter followed, near the same epicenter.
Damage to houses
It is recalled that from the strong vibration of 6 Richter, at least 30 houses were seriously damaged in the Mesochori area of the Elassona municipality, while the intervention of firefighters was needed to free people.
Most of the damage was caused by falling walls and major cracks.
Hotel rental in Trikala and Larissa
Due to the magnitude 6 earthquake, a large meeting was convened at the Operations Coordination Center established in the “Schoina” camp in the Tyrnavos area, with the participation of a government unit reporting to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of State. , Theodoros Livos.
According to the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, the Thessaly Region has already rented three hotels in Trikala and two in Larissa for residents who do not want to spend the night at home.
