Nikos Hardalias announced a readjustment of measures to curb the coronavirus after the continuous increase in cases throughout the country.
“We have to be flexible in the measures that we decide but rigid in their observance by everyone. Only then will we succeed. So, over the next few weeks, we adopt the reasoning, the logic of last March. We live in our houses, we live in our neighborhood and when we have to move we move the shortest distance possible ”, Mr. Hardalias stressed.
As of tomorrow, Thursday and from 6 in the morning until Tuesday, March 16, the following applies:
For SMS throughout the country
The traffic code 2 to go to supermarkets and other essential shops, as well as the travel code 3 for the branch to go to a bank branch, will be valid within the corresponding municipality of the citizens or at a distance of 2 km from the place of residence . .
Highway Code 6 for physical exercise will only apply to pedestrians or cyclists and no one can use it to travel to other areas by car or motorcycle.
With regard to travel code 4, auditing bodies will now request clarification from citizens in the event of an audit.
Changes to the health insurance map
Starting tomorrow, in addition to Attica, the following areas will be in “deep red”:
Achaia, Arcadia, Thessaloniki, Larissa, Lefkada (except Meganisi), Phthiotida, Argolida, Corinthia, Thesprotia, Arta, Samos, Boeotia, Chios, Etoloakarnania, Rhodes, Heraklion, Evia (except Skyros) and the municipality of Kalion.
All other areas of the country are classified as “red”.
An exception is the Larissa region, where the measures will take effect from Saturday, March 6 to deal with the consequences of the earthquake.
Curfew
In the areas located in the “red” traffic will not be allowed from 9 pm to 5 am.
In “hot red” areas, the traffic ban will be updated at 7 instead of 6. The only exceptions are Attica and Thessaloniki, where on weekdays the ban will start at 9 pm and until 5 am. A.M.
What applies to schools
In the areas of greatest risk, the live operation of the Lyceums is suspended. In “deep red” areas, all grade levels are suspended for life except special education.
Greater controls in neighborhoods
Citizens cannot stay in outdoor sports facilities, organized marinas, parks and groves.
Controls in neighborhoods will also be increased. Special emphasis will be placed on workplace controls, which together with home meetings are, as Mr Hardalias said, the main causes of the spread of the pandemic in recent weeks.
