The preliminary investigation was ordered by the Chief of the First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, Sotiria Papageorgakopoulou, on the occasion of an appeal filed by the Directorate of the Educational Society, on the investigation of the complaints of 285 graduates of the Arsakeio Schools on relations sexual harassment and other forms of sexual harassment and other forms.

After the presentation of the request of the Educational Society, previously announced by the president professor George Babiniotis, the head of the Prosecutor’s Office ordered a preliminary investigation. The investigation was entrusted to the Prosecutor of the Court of First Instance, George Noulis.

The 285 graduates from 1994 to 2018, in their letter to the Educational Society, posted yesterday, report that they are aware of and have been informed about the sexual, psychological or even verbal insults suffered by students by individual teachers from Arsakeia. At the same time, they refer to the “timeless mentality of some” and denounce both the perpetrators and the teachers – responsible or responsible – who covered up these events.

According to a statement issued by Mr. Babiniotis, the request presented in the form of a report to the Prosecutor’s Office is “to summon one by one the 285 graduates of the Arsakeion Schools who sign the controversial announcement that was sent to the media with in order to specify their complaints to be investigated. “These are in a competent manner by the Athens Prosecutor’s Office.” It is highlighted that “the Educational Society will closely follow the process and will assist the prosecution’s work in everything that is requested.” .
