Position for the attack you receive on the occasion of a previous statement in favor of your then choice Dimitris Lignadis in the position of artistic director of the National Theater he took the George Babiniotis.
The professor of Linguistics through his publication on Facebook also responds to the president of the Federation of Private Educational Officials (OIELE), Michalis Kouroutos, who requested his dismissal from the Educational Society on the occasion of the director’s case.
“In the face of these behaviors, which are manifestly illegal in the context of any benevolent state, we are obliged, but also determined to defend ourselves by any legal means,” he concluded in a statement.
George Babiniotis’s message
In recent days, on the occasion of my previous statement in favor of the then election of Dimitris Lignadis to the position of artistic director of the National Theater, a great direction directed by a broadcasting company is evolving to my detriment and to the detriment of my daughter Florita Babiniotis public. It is no coincidence that the general order of blatantly defamatory attacks against me is given by groups and individuals from a specific political area, such as Mr. Polakis or professional trade unionists, such as Mich. Kouroutos (which I honestly can’t remember, how many times in total he has asked for my resignation). Aware that I was the true target, I initially felt, mistakenly, that by not being put out in public, I could further preserve the peace of mind of my struggling family members. But I realized that my silence is perceived by some as supposedly guilt. For these reasons, I declare the following:
I feel, above all, the need to express my full support for the victims of all kinds of violence. Victims need our support and encouragement. Cleanliness, no matter how painful the process, can only be the desired goal of every sane citizen. A purge, however, which in the context of a benevolent state can only be commissioned and carried out exclusively by its legal courts. With these thoughts, I also express my satisfaction that Justice has already dealt with the complaints and I await, regarding your work and your decisions, your final judgment.
I declare it unequivocally my disgust on the content of the victims’ complaints, which have recently come to light, the reading of which causes me deep hatred and unspeakable anger.
My statement in favor of the election of D. Lignadis as artistic director of the National Theater was made in the context of dozens of corresponding publications that I have made from time to time on subjects and people of Culture, whom I personally serve without interruption. more than 40 years.
I have already accepted in myself that all my efforts to persuade those who do not realize that, if you have the slightest suspicion of having committed a crime on behalf of that person, I would never make that statement. Furthermore, it makes no sense to point out the self-righteousness of those who, maintaining both professional and interpersonal relationships with D. Lignadis, today invoke complete ignorance and, at the same time, tear clothes that I “could not have known”.
On the contrary, for those in good faith who wish to be informed of the truth, I declare that D. Lignadis worked in Arsakeio, as an external collaborator, in the Arsakeia afternoon elective groups (and not in the school curriculum teachers) for 19 whole years. The rumors circulating about his removal from Arsakeio in 2002 are completely false. He left, preferring to move to the University theater club. I affirm categorically and in every tone that at all times he collaborated with Arsakeio, no complaints came to my attention even orally.
Also, it seems to some that a direct attack on me was not enough, but they also wanted to hurt me indirectly, through my daughter. My daughter’s legal adventure which was raised as supposed news by some known or anonymous journalists, has already been rescinded since 2015 irrevocably and basically (and not for formal reasons) his acquittal, by the Mixed Court of Juries, which ruled that no criminal act was committed. Some deliberately tried this truth to hide it, presenting the trial as pending. Others, apparently dedicated to the Lynch law, although aware of the current – since 2015 – irrevocable acquittal, are taking my daughter to a second trial, through social networks, with the judges themselves. It turns out that some of our fellow citizens not only consider from the outset that whoever is accused is obviously guilty, but they do not even accept irrevocable judicial decisions, considering themselves judges and honored of everything.
I’m sorry, but in the face of these behaviors, which are clearly illegal in any favored state, we are compelled, but also determined to defend ourselves by any legal means.
