According to the information, the committee of epidemiologists that met today put an end to the suggestion to change Achaia and not just Patras to deep red.

The committee also raised the question of whether Rethymno will turn red, while the decision regarding Thessaloniki is pending.

These issues will be raised again on Friday when the committee meets.

It should be noted that today 1,496 new cases of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were announced, of which 4 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 167,549, of which 51.9% are men. During the follow-up, it was found that 6073 (3.6%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 53600 (61.0%) are related to an already known case.

284 people are treated by intubation. Their average age is 70 years. 202 (71.1%) of those intubated are men. 85.6% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 1,185 patients have been discharged from the ICU since the start of the pandemic.

Finally, we have 17 new deaths from COVID-19, reaching 6034 total deaths in the country, of which 3547 (58.8%) men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 95.6% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
