Citizen deception incidents happen almost daily, and would-be scammers always come up with a new trick to get what they want.
A 33-year-old woman in Rethymno also had the unpleasant experience of falling for these scammers, she reported to the Police on Tuesday (2/9).
As he describes in his complaint, it all started when he received a message on his cell phone from a well-known bank. According to the information, the message said that someone was trying to transfer money from his account and therefore he would have to send his card codes to the bank to block the process.
Confident, she sent what they asked for, but when she realized that not even the bank that is listed on her had sent her a message but also that this was all a fraud by strangers, the amount of 4,000 euros, as she complained, had already made wings from his bank account.
In any case, what EL.AS. It’s that we should never send personal data and card codes, as scammers … lurk and hit where we don’t expect it.
