More than 300 kilos of pure cocaine were seized by police officers from the Thessaloniki Security Directorate in collaboration with the DEA office in Athens.
(3) Leaders of an international drug trafficking circuit arrested in the case
The drugs were imported into our country for the purpose of their trafficking in the Greek territory.
A decisive blow to the international traffic and trafficking circuits of large quantities of drugs, was achieved by the police officers of the Security Directorate of Thessaloniki and specifically of the Department of General Affairs of the Sub-Directorate of Drug Control, when in collaboration with the DEA Athens Office and N Departments Eastern Thessaloniki, they prevented the channeling of a large quantity of drugs into drug addicts’ hangouts.
More than 300 kilos of pure cocaine were seized and three (3) leaders of a very well organized international drug trafficking network were arrested.
They are two foreigners aged 37 and 36 and a local 35, whose activity was revealed in the context of a methodical and exhaustive police investigation. It even turned out that they assumed the role of receiving quantities of cocaine and its subsequent management: trafficking in Greek territory.
In coordinated operation which took place at noon yesterday on 01-29-2021, in an area of the city center, all the men mentioned were arrested at the scene, in the context of a transaction between them.
In polls which continued in two (2) vehicles and in an apartment where one of them lived, which they used to deliver and store drug quantities, were found and seized:
- (324) kilograms of pure cocaine, divided into (260) packages,
- (5,265) euros and currencies related to drug trafficking,
- (5) mobile phones that they used for their communications and
- Laptop.
It is noted that the data was identified and a fourth main member of the circuit, which is sought.
The detainees will be transferred to the competent judicial authorities.
