The National Public Health Organization (EODY) announced Thursday afternoon (7/1) 510 new cases of coronavirus in Greece, of which 16 were located after door checks country of entry. Note that very little testing was done.

The total number of cases is 142,777, of which 52.3% are men. During the follow-up, it was found that 5565 (3.9%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 42934 (30.1%) are related to an already known case.
There are 391 people who are treated by intubation. Their average age is 68 years. 266 (68.0%) of those intubated are men. 85.2% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older.
Additionally, 911 patients have been discharged from the ICU since the beginning of the pandemic.
Finally, we have 47 new deaths from COVID-19, reaching 5,146 deaths in total in the country, of which 3,041 (59.1%) men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 95.5% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
In the previous 24 hours, 4,882 molecular tests and 3,815 rapid tests were performed. The positivity rate was 5.7%.
