Reconstruction: The background to the reorganizations – What happened to Theodorikakos and Vroutsi

[ad_1]

Softer than expected and that certainly will not be written in history, in addition to not altering the balance both in the government and in the New Democracy, was the reorganization announced at noon.

It is also a shakeup with clear winners and losers. From the government side, what comes out mainly is that the most important role is played by Makis Voridis and Kostis Hatzidakis, who leave the Ministries of Rural Development and Environment respectively and take over the Ministry of the Interior and Labor.

At the same time, the message that Kyriakos Mitsotakis wants to send is that in the midst of an unprecedented health crisis (with other dangers awaiting), it cannot be turned upside down.

This is also the reason why the main body of the government remained, that is, the ministers in critical ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, who will be summoned in the coming months to handle the “hot” potatoes.

Still, the prime minister would not want under any circumstances to change a government that is considered successful, according to opinion polls, and enjoys high acceptance rates.

The background of the reform

However, the reorganization also included outright departures. Like that of Takis Theodorikakou and Giannis Vroutsis from the Ministries of the Interior and Labor respectively.

The former -now- Minister of the Interior and until now Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s top collaborator from the day of his election as head of ND, until the blue victory of the national elections, is among the losers of the reorganization. Mr. Theodorikakos had lost strong communication channels with the Maximos Palace, while it seems that the fiasco was also charged with the wrong masks in the schools.

According to information from MEGA, Mr. Theodorikakos was deemed to have completed a very important project assigned to him. An important milestone in his tenure as Interior Minister was the expatriate vote, even in the early days of the Mitsotakis government.

In fact, Mr. Theodorikakos closed his mandate in the ministry with a very large reform, which is none other than the changes in the form of ASEP.

However, there were cloudy moments in the Prime Minister’s relations with the Maximos Palace and what can be seen today in Mr. Theodorikakos’ announcement is that while he can thank the local government officials with whom he collaborated, his associates, people ordinary, but does not say a word about the prime minister.

The former Labor Minister, Giannis Vroutsis, moves to the parliamentary seats as a parliamentary representative, having accumulated dissatisfaction.

In the case of Mr. Vroutsis, it is also considered that he completed his work in the ministry.

Now he leaves behind Mr. Tsaklogos, who has to manage a very important part of the third pillar, and Mr. Hatzidakis, who succeeds him in the ministerial position, who will be called to manage labor issues.

As for Kostis Hatzidakis, he takes over the portfolio of the Ministry of Labor. Mr. Hatzidakis was judged as the right person to implement exactly that reform model that the government has planned for the next period and he is the right duo with Mr. Tsakloglou in the specific ministry to implement this project.

In essence, the issue of reorganization was designed on the basis of policy, and that is where the issue of reorganization lies.

Finally, regarding the Health portfolio, due to the great weight of the pandemic, Minister Vassilis Kikilias was in charge of the issue of vaccination, while the Vice Minister of Health, now, Vassilis Kontozamanis, will be responsible for the issues. of Covid. but also for the National Health System.

In any case, as they emphasize from the Palace of the Maximum, there is no permanence for anyone in ministerial positions and everyone is judged day by day.
