A well-known jeweler from Lamia was arrested by the police on New Year’s Eve and transferred to the city’s Police Headquarters.
Previously, another jeweler, who is from Athens and was in the city of Fthiotida to receive the stolen goods from his colleague from Lamia, had been detained in the city center. In fact, the jeweler was returning from a tour he had done in Ioannina, Trikala and other cities.
According to information from LamiaReport, the police found many jewelry, including pounds of gold, in the jeweler’s car.
What the police are now investigating is the way in which the alleged thieves acted and whether there is an organized circuit that trafficked the stolen jewelry.
Official announcements from the police are expected in the next few hours.
