[ad_1]

The weather will worsen from tomorrow afternoon and from the southwest, with rains and thunderstorms in various parts of the country, with a parallel predominance of southeast winds and dust transport from Africa.

More specifically, according to the weather of the National Observatory of Athens, on Saturday, January 2, clouds are expected in almost the whole country that will gradually increase, giving local rains in several areas and mainly in the Aegean. Starting in the afternoon in the west and south, the rains will become general and will intensify until the afternoon, accompanied by electrical storms.

Snow will fall mainly at night in the western, central, and northern mountains. In the morning and at night, visibility will be limited in many areas and locally dense fogs will form, while frost will occur on the central and northern continents. Atmospheric conditions favor the transport of dust from Africa.

The temperature will vary in Western Macedonia from -6 to 10 degrees, in the rest of northern Greece from -2 to 14, in Epirus and Thessaly from -2 to 15, in the rest of the continent from 2 to 16 degrees, in the Islands Ionian from 7 to 17, in the north and northeast islands of the Aegean Sea from 6 to 16 degrees and in the other island parts of the Aegean Sea from 8 to 19 degrees Celsius.

Winds will generally blow from southeast directions with intensities of up to 5 Beaufort in the Aegean and 6-7 Beaufort in the Ionian.

Some clouds are expected in Attica, which will gradually increase and there will be local rains in the afternoon. In the morning, visibility will be limited and fogs may form, mainly in the east of the prefecture, while dust concentrations will be relatively high. The winds will blow from south to east with intensities not exceeding 4 Beaufort. The temperature will vary from 6 to 16 degrees.

Some clouds are expected in Thessaloniki, which will gradually thicken, with an increased possibility of local rains late at night. Fog will form in the morning. The winds will blow weak from the east. The temperature in the city center will fluctuate between 4 and 14 degrees, but around the city the minimum will be 5 to 6 degrees lower.
