Greek aid arrived in Croatia shortly after 20:15, which was sent in immediate response to the request for humanitarian assistance, after the catastrophic earthquake that struck the country yesterday, with a tragic death toll of seven and great material damage.

It is noted that following a relevant order from the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Greece immediately prepared an aid package, consisting of tents, sleeping bags, blankets, sheets, heaters and other items for the people left homeless by the devastating earthquake.

In fact, it was the first mission among all EU countries to arrive in Zagreb, following a request for assistance from the Croatian authorities, which was presented through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.

The coordination and organization of Greek aid to Croatia was in charge of Civil Protection, while the mission was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Staff Spyros Georgiou, Head of the Directorate of International Relations of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.

The Greek delegation, which flew to Croatia in a C-130 aircraft, was received at the airport by the Greek ambassador in Zagreb, Antonia Katzourou, the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Terezija Gras, and the Croatian Deputy Minister of Defense, Zdravko Jakop, who They received us. for an immediate response and practical solidarity.
