Landslides in Lake Plastira Township

In fact, as of today, according to the municipal authority, there is a landslide phenomenon in a wide radius, with uncertain development and unknown effects on the security of the settlement.

The fears are confirmed that the geological background of Agrafa, disturbed by “IANO”, will give new landslides, is also emphasized in the same letter. Thus, after the new falls of Pezoula due to the recent downpour, the serious subsidence that is taking place in the settlement of Agia Marina in the community of Karitsa Dolopon (former name Plakoto) is added, adds the municipal authority.

Lake Plastira Township Staircase with the mayor and scientists, but also with the assistance of a geologist – special associate environmentalist, visited the settlement immediately, where they found that so far three houses and the settlement’s only warehouse have suffered significant damage .

The assessment is that the buildings are unfit for living, while fears are expressed for the safety of the settlement.

The mayor of the Municipality of Limni Plastira, Mr. Panagiotis Nanos, in his statements to APE-MPE, emphasizes that the situation is difficult and the state mechanism must intervene immediately.

“We are watching with concern the development of a new landslide phenomenon that began this morning. We visited the Agia Marina Karitsa settlement with our technical advisers to learn the magnitude of the phenomenon. This landslide is a consequence of cyclone” Ianos “, “That seems to activate the well-known flysch of the Agrafa scientific community.
