To offset the total portfolio of overdue debts, the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) digitally canceled debts of up to 10 euros per debtor, for 118,906 taxpayers.
These debtors met the following conditions:
- The debts that were canceled were past due until 11/25/2019.
- The total basic debt balance per debtor did not exceed the amount of 10 euros.
- There were no other debts of the same person at the time of cancellation.
This procedure was carried out in accordance with article 44 para. 7 of Law 4646/2019.
The law establishes that “the balances of the basic debts certified with the tax administration up to the amount of ten euros are written off, in total by debtor, natural or legal person, provided that the debts are past due on the date of presentation here and there are no other debts of the same person against at the time of elimination “.
