Outgoing American President Donald trump calls on supporters to rally in Washington on January 6 in a last-ditch effort to pressure Congress not to ratify victory Joe biden in the presidential election.

Thousands of supporters of the outgoing US president are expected to be in the federal capital on this day to support Trump and the unfounded allegations that there was “massive” fraud in the November 3 presidential election.

Among the protesters expected are some violent groups, such as the far-right Proud Boys, who are expected to take to the streets of Washington after a similar demonstration on December 12, during which riots broke out. Later, many people were attacked with knives and dozens more were arrested.

Over the weekend, Trump wrote two messages on his Twitter account inviting his followers to join the rally, calling the November 3 election “the biggest FRAUD in our nation’s history.”

“See you in Washington on January 6. Don’t miss it.” The reporting will follow, “Trump said Sunday.

The outgoing president hopes that the demonstration will pressure Congress not to ratify Joe Biden’s victory.

On January 6, the vice president of U.S Mike Pence is expected to preside over a congressional hearing to validate the House of Representatives vote, which Biden got 306 votes and Trump 232.

During this meeting, which is attended by senators and members of the House of Representatives, the Vice President will open and read the minutes of the counting of the votes of the voters of each state and will announce the winner of the election.

The procedure is expected to be, as usual, formal.

But Trump and his supporters are trying to pressure Pence to reject the votes of state voters who voted for Biden, a power only the vice president of the United States has.

In the absence of evidence to support their “massive fraud” allegations, the roughly 50 lawsuits filed by Trump allies across the United States have been dismissed by the courts or dropped.
