Actor Nikos Filippopoulos died at the age of 92 on Sunday afternoon (12/27).

The unpleasant news was made known by his colleague, Spyros Bibilas, in a post on Facebook, in which he wrote:

The great actor Nikos Filippopoulos passed away at noon, my last living teacher of the School of Drama of the Piraeus Association, the teacher who instilled in us the spirit and love of theater, the actor who honored the National School of Theater Eri with great roles. Pappas, who played the Fool in Lear with Minotis, who also left his mark in the cinema (Maro Kontou’s brother in THE WOMAN SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF MAN). He bent over at noon as Trellos used to say and fell asleep at 92 forever. Have a good trip my dear teacher … “.

He was born in Volos on March 22, 1928 and studied at the Drama School of the National Theater. He also studied Byzantine and European music and radio conducting.

As a child he participated in the show La hora del niño (Antigone Metaxa) while he also participated in the Antigone Metaxa theater. He participated in radio programs and developed his activity as a director: he directed Greek and foreign theater plays, historical and folkloric chronicles, religious-themed shows, etc.

In 1928 he adapted several theatrical texts. He appeared for the first time in the theater in 1948 and until 1982 he participated in 62 performances of the National Theater. She became famous when she played Maro Kontou’s brother in the movie “And the woman is afraid of the man.”

She was the wife of actress Lefki Venturatou.
