The 5.3 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey caused confusion and panic.
In fact, the internet is making the video where a man is seen jumping from a great height (probably from a window) in an attempt to save himself.
In addition to the man, the video also shows citizens scared out into the street and running after the strong earthquake.
However, the Interior Minister announced that there are currently no reports of casualties or serious damage.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 15.95 kilometers, AFAD reported, adding that the epicenter was in Elazig province, which was hit by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in January, killing 39 people.
“It just came to our notice then.” All of our teams continue to investigate the area, “Interior Minister Suleiman Soilou said in a Twitter post.
Turkish media reported that the tremor was felt in Malatya, Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa provinces.
Reuters previously reported that, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.3 and a focal depth of only 2 kilometers.
