The FBI is now investigating the mysterious high-powered car bomb explosion in downtown Nashville on Christmas morning, which resulted in three minor injuries and extensive damage to property from businesses and homes in the area.

It is noteworthy that the caravan that exploded at 6.30 am on Friday had automatically sent a message a few minutes earlier to evacuate the area because there would be an explosion in 15 minutes.

Police say they were convinced it was a premeditated attack and not an accident, but avoided talking about a terrorist attack.

Investigators still have no evidence of the motive for the attack. What the US media estimates is that whoever was behind the attack obviously did not intend human victims, the most likely target being the building of the US telecommunications company AT&T in the city of Tennessee.

However, things are complicated with a telephone call to immediate action from the city before the explosion, in which there was talk of shots being heard on the spot. This, according to observers, may indicate that the purpose of the attack was to injure police officers who were rushing to the area.
