Total penalties on 700,000 euros tax on debtor information companies for overdue debts during the period 2019-2020.
Specifically, as announced by the General Secretariat for Trade and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Development and Investments, the In 2019, 185 consumer complaints were filed for unlawful harassment by debtor information companies and financial institutions for their overdue debts. and a total of 49 administrative sanctions were imposed 470,000 euros for infractions of the provisions of law 3758/2009.

The fines in these companies related mainly to:
• notification of debtors before the expiration of ten days from the day their debt became due,
• harassment of debtors with calls to the work phone,
• harassment of debtors despite the existence of debt settlement observed,
• deviation from the lender’s orders,
• confusing information,
• Demonstrate offensive behavior during telephone communication.
