Pain, sadness, grief. Emotions that are not easily described. Words often fail to capture reality. Then, as if they came from a machine god, the images come. Able to “describe” without words what happened in 2020, the “year of the pandemic.”
The Swiss artist, Cee-Roo, created one four minute video, that captures the unpleasant events that humanity experienced in the year that is going away in a few days.
The video focuses in the course of the coronavirus pandemic, starting in Wuhan and moving around the world, showing the empty streets, the fear of the people and the great battle of the medical staff.
Between loss and fear, the Swiss artist send messages of optimism and joy, projecting unique moments of people who gave power. Like, the sounds made by improvised musical instruments in the hands of people, who in the middle of a confinement, went out to their balconies to join their “voices”.
The creation of Cee-Roo includes other “black” events of 2020 such as the explosion in Beirut, the “fire hell” in Australia and the Amazon, the murder of George Floyd, the deaths of Coby Bryant and Diego Maradona.
