Loaded with cocaine from Ecuador, it was a container in Piraeus

A container full of cocaine from Ecuador was found in Piraeus by the men of the Drug Prosecutor’s Office with the assistance of the DEA Office of the United States Embassy.

The competent authorities, after evaluating the information, carried out 20-day inspections in the port of Piraeus, on more than 150 containers.

The result of the inspections was the location of the container, in whose walls 30 packages containing cocaine were found hidden and confiscated, with a total gross weight of -35 kilos.

The container with the cargo, which was declared as “food”, was loaded onto a ship, which had left the Port of Guayaquil in Ecuador on November 15 and had arrived at the Port of Piraeus on December 7.

The Sub-Directorate for Drug Prosecution is conducting a preliminary investigation and has already developed cooperation with the competent authorities abroad to locate and arrest the perpetrators.
