By December 30, Greece will receive the first large batch of vaccines (83,850 doses), 429,000 doses at the end of January and 333,450 doses at the end of February. Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccine doses will be added in January.

Who will get vaccinated first?

The first group to get vaccinated are healthcare workers, who are constantly exposed to the virus and are therefore three times more likely than the general population. They will be followed by the elderly who are housed in structures such as nursing homes and closed structures for the chronically ill and people with other problems.

Regarding the vaccination of the general population, based on the planning so far, the dating platform is expected to open in the second ten days of January.

How the age groups will be divided

According to the Deputy Minister of Digital Government, Grigoris Zarifopoulos, together with health workers, priority will be given to older people, starting with those who are housed in structures.

As he explained, the intangible prescription will be used and through AMKA the age division will be made. The first phase will refer to those over 85 years old, while the group over 75 years old will follow and so on.

The first group to be vaccinated will include those with underlying diseases (dialysis, transplantation, etc.).

Regarding the appointment process, citizens will receive SMS through the intangible prescription system. With this message they will be informed about the day, time and vaccination center they should go to. Citizens must confirm the appointment and then present themselves for the vaccination.
