President-elect Joe Biden was vaccinated in front of television cameras with the first dose of the Pfizer / Biontech vaccine.

He was vaccinated at a hospital in Newark, Delaware, a week after the start of coronavirus vaccines in the United States, according to CNN.

Biden urged Americans to get vaccinated, saying “there is no cause for concern.” He also praised the government of outgoing Republican President Donald Trump for launching vaccines.

Previously, his wife Jill Biden was vaccinated.

The Pfizer / Biontech vaccine is administered in two doses, with an interval of several weeks between them, to achieve 95% of its effectiveness.

It is not known when Biden will be vaccinated with the second dose.

According to her spokeswoman Jen Psaki, the vice president-elect of the United States, Kamala Harris, and her husband will be vaccinated next week.

US Chief Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci said last week that he recommended that both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris get vaccinated as soon as possible. His encouragement to Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence was similar.
