Coronavirus: 901 new cases, 58 deaths

The new cases of coronavirus registered in the last 24 hours in Greece amount to 901, as announced today, Saturday, December 19, by the National Public Health Organization.

During the same period, there were 58 deaths, according to EODY data, compared with 96 on Friday.

534 patients are being treated by intubation (seven more than on Friday).

From January 1, 2020 to today, a total of 2,674,207 clinical samples (approximately 17,000 in the last 24 hours, number corresponding to Friday).

433,466 samples from EODY Health Units and Stairs performing Rapid Ag tests have been analyzed (approximately 15,000 in the last 24 hours, compared to 19,000 on Friday).

“Today we announce 901 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 6 were detected after controls at the country’s gates. The total number of cases is 130,485, of which 52.5% are men.

5,196 (4.0%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 38050 (29.2%) are related to an already known case.

534 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 66. 165 (30.9%) are women and the rest are men. 77.3% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 797 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 58 more registered deaths and 4102 deaths in total in the country. 1654 (40.3%) women and the rest men. The average age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 95.7% had some underlying disease and / or 70 years or more ”.
