The universal closure also in Kozani, announced the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias.
These are the same measurements as have gone into effect in West Attica.
In more detail, the Undersecretariat of Civil Protection announced curfew from 6 pm to 5 am, suspension of operation shops, lay people, churches and massive tests to the inhabitants of the area.
Exceptions to the measures announced by Mr. Hardalias they refer only to the movement of workers after 6 o’clock, with a special certificate from their employers, as well as funeral, up to 10 people.
The new measures that come into force in Kozani
- Extension of the curfew from 18:00 to 05:00. Employees who move with the exclusive permission of their employer are excluded.
- Suspension of retail operation, even with click away, of hair salons, nail shops, bookstores and all businesses.
- Suspension of all types of ecclesiastical ceremonies, of all religions, with the exception of funerals where the presence of 10 people from the close circle of the deceased is allowed.
- Suspension of access to temples for individual worship.
- Suspension of operation of all public markets, quick test in retailers: traders every three days to move to other areas to work.
- Massive controls with rapid testing and in-depth follow-up of confirmed cases.
- Intensification of controls over employees in the area.
- Molecular tests every five days in nursing home employees and prisoners.
- Mass distribution of masks to citizens with the care of local self-government.
- Isolation of confirmed cases that do not require hospitalization, in special structures provided by Civil Protection.
- Information campaign in collaboration with Municipalities, Counter-region, EODY, psychologists and anthropologists for the specialized population profile of the inhabitants.
- Intensify controls to ensure strict compliance with the measures and strengthen control mechanisms.
Effective from 06:00 hours on Friday the measurements
The new measures will be in effect from 06:00 on Friday morning (18.12), and will be valid for seven days when the situation is reassessed, in order to decide whether to continue or eliminate or toughen up even more.
