by precautionary measures of its greatest dispersion coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 during the winter season and the Christmas festive period, reports the Ministry of Health with a circular.
He points out that according to European Center for Disease Control, its transmission coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in European countries remains high.
The possible early termination of restrictive measures, which have been implemented in all European countries to restrict spread of coronavirus, would lead to a sharp increase in new cases and hospitalizations.
The European Center for Disease Control, taking into account the current epidemiological situation, the measures already taken in all European countries, but also during the Christmas holidays, assesses the degree of risk of spread of the coronavirus as “high” in the general population and as “very high” in the elderly and people with underlying diseases.
The Christmas season is traditionally associated with activities such as Social gatherings, the markets and the movements, of which, in combination with possible incomplete indoor ventilation conditions, could significantly increase the risk of further spread of the virus, if carried out without compliance with adequate protective measures.
Protection measures
- Natural distance of at least 1.5-2 meters
- Use of mask
- Hand hygiene
- Respiratory hygiene (coughing or sneezing, covering nose and mouth with elbow sleeve or tissue. Used tissue should be discarded immediately after use in containers) and especially during the entire suitable winter period and systematic. Ventilation of closed spaces.
Special attention should also be paid to the maximum number of people who can be in the same area in an effort to limit the length of social gatherings.
It is recalled that gatherings, public or social events are suspended, regardless of the public or private space, national or foreign. Especially for December 24, 25, 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021 meetings are allowed, with a maximum of nine participants that come from up to two families.
Because reasons to prevent further spread of the virus during the Christmas season, as the risk of transmission increases, as people remain indoors possibly with inadequate ventilation due to low temperatures, while eating, drinking and chatting in close proximity to people, and Special protection reasons for people belonging to vulnerable groups, since festive gatherings can put them in contact with people who carry the virus without their knowledge, protection measures must be respected.
Additionally, the following are strongly recommended:
- Avoid unnecessary travel
- Avoid participating in meetings with people showing symptoms of suspected COVID-19 infection
- Meetings of small fixed groups of people (social bubbles) both before and during the holidays. People in the group should follow the same security measures and avoid meeting with people outside of this group.
- If meeting with persons belonging to vulnerable groups is necessary, it is recommended that “visitors” have restrained themselves in advance (from contacts) with the greatest possible caution, in order to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to vulnerable persons.
- In all meetings, measures of physical distance, use of a mask, hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene, reduced stay indoors, and adequate and systematic ventilation of the space should be taken into account.
- Indoor areas should be ventilated with fresh air for as long as possible.
- Crowded areas should be avoided even if they are outdoors.
- People with a positive diagnostic test or symptoms of COVID-19 infection, as well as people who have been restricted due to high-risk contact with confirmed cases, should not participate in group meetings, regardless of laboratory confirmation. .
- Asymptomatic individuals with a recent negative diagnostic test should continue to follow prescribed protective measures.
- Finally, the need for a faithful application of the measures in all closed spaces, shops, places of worship, public transport, etc. is recalled.
