Horror in Nagorno-Karabakh: Elders who did not leave their decapitated villages – World

According to The Guardian, two decapitated elderly men in Nagorno-Karabakh were identified by the Azerbaijani security forces and the videos circulated on the Internet.

According to the report, both elders were beheaded by men wearing Azerbaijani Armed Forces uniforms. According to the same note, the videos of the executions are the most hated that have been released so far.

In videos posted on November 22 and December 3, men in uniforms similar to those of Azeri soldiers appear to behead a man with a knife. Then one of the perpetrators places the severed head on a dead animal. And all this happens while listening to a voice that says “this is how we get revenge, cutting off our heads”.

Two residents of Madatashen village identified the victim as Genadi Petrosyan, 69, who had moved to the village from Azerbaijan in the late 1980s.

He refused to leave his place when the Azerbaijani forces approached. When a neighbor tried to chase him away, he got out and walked home.

A second video, posted on December 7, shows two soldiers in Azeri military uniforms immobilizing an elderly man near a tree. Another soldier gives a knife to one of the attackers and begins to cut the victim’s neck.

Three residents of Azokh village have identified the victim: Yuri Asryan, 82, who, like Petrosyan, had refused to leave the village on 20 October as Azerbaijani forces approached.

Azerbaijan’s attorney general launched a public inquiry into the war crimes in Baku and Yerevan last month. He made the first arrests on Monday, detaining four Azerbaijani soldiers.
