Two elderly people beheaded by Azerbaijani security forces have been identified in horrific videos that were widely circulated on a messaging app, according to the guardian. According to the newspaper, they are Armenian civilians living in different villages in Nagorno-Karabakh, and its recognition is further proof of the atrocities committed in the region during the recent war.

Two residents of the town of Madatasen, in Nagorno-Karabakh, identified the victim as 69 years old Gennady Petrosian, who had moved to the village in the late 1980s from Sumgayit, Azerbaijan.
H Gayan petrosyan (Despite the same last name, there is no relationship), the director of the local school, lived right in front of the poor house of the victim. He said he had helped install the village’s power grid and showed him photos of a son who had moved to Russia with his ex-wife. Gennady Petrosyan, who lived alone, refused to leave the village when the Azerbaijani forces approached. When a neighbor tried to drive him away, got off and walked home.
Artak Beglarian, the ombudsman who works for the local government, confirmed the identity of the 69-year-old through testimonies from people who knew him.
The second elder to be identified
A video posted on the Telegram app on December 7 shows two soldiers in uniforms similar to those of Azerbaijani soldiers immobilizing an elderly man near a tree. Another soldier gives a knife to one of the attackers and begins to cut the victim’s neck. Before the video ends, the decapitation is almost complete.
Three Azok villagers identified the victim in this video as him. Yuri asrian, an 82-year-old man who had refused to leave the village on 20 October as Azerbaijani forces approached.
