The armament program for the acquisition of 18 Rafale fighters from France, worth 2,500 million euros, is progressing with very rapid procedures.
On Thursday, December 17, the agreement will be presented to Parliament, while on December 23, the French Minister of Defense, Florence Parley, will visit our country to “drop” the relevant signatures between the two parties.
At the same time, as the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Panagiotopoulos stated yesterday in Parliament, the possibility of acquiring French frigates remains open. France is expected to present in the near future a proposal for 4 vessels, of which 2 appear to be designed to meet the needs of the navy, while the other two will be with the basic configuration so that their budget is as low as possible .
At the same time, Turkey is equipping its fleet with a new unmanned vessel, which also has an anti-missile defense system, and will be in trial operation in the coming months.
