A black record in the number of patients hospitalized for coronavirus, recorded by Sweden, who applied for many months the herd immunity policy that fell into the void.

The Swedish television station (SVT) broadcast that generally 2,389 patients, including those in ICU, have received hospital treatment for the disease today, 65 more people than on April 20, when the previous record was set.

According to SVT, three of the 21 provinces of the country It currently did not provide updated data for Covid-19 and it used the latest data reported for these areas. The National Health and Welfare Council, which is responsible for collecting health statistics, could not immediately confirm the calculation.

Unlike most European countries, Sweden has avoided the use of masks and lockdowns, focusing instead on voluntary measures such as social distancing and good hygiene.

The country has so far registered more than 7,500 deaths, a per capita rate much higher than its Scandinavian neighbors, but lower than in many other European countries, including Britain, Italy, Spain, France and Belgium, which opted for the blockade measure.
