The climate in our country is rapidly deteriorating as a new barometric minimum causes heavy local rains, sporadic thunderstorms and snowfall on the mountainous continents.
According to the latest forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr, stronger southerly winds are expected in Attica overnight from Friday 11 to Saturday 12 December 2020.
The winds in the Saronic Gulf, in the southern regions of Attica and in southern Evia will reach 7-8 Beaufort. Heavy rains and possibly thunderstorms are expected during the same period.

More specifically, according to EMY, strong phenomena will affect:
– Today Friday from late afternoon the Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, from late afternoon the Peloponnese and overnight until Saturday Attica. From Saturday morning and from the northwest the effects will weaken.
– On Saturday (12-12-2020) East Macedonia, Thrace, the East Aegean islands, from time to time Crete until noon and from the afternoon the Dodecanese.
-On Sunday, Crete, the Dodecanese gradually the Cyclades, the eastern Aegean islands and the central and southern mainland areas of the country.
-On Monday the eastern country and mainly central Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, eastern Esterea, Evia, the islands of the Aegean and the Dodecanese. A weakening of the phenomena is expected from the afternoon hours.
B. Stormy south winds from 7-8 Beaufort will blow locally in the Ionian Sea on Friday (12-11-2020) and in the Aegean on Saturday (12-12-2020) and Sunday (12-13-2020). North winds will prevail on Monday (14-12-2020) from 8 Beaufort in the Ionian and North Aegean.
