The weather today: Bad weather in the country continues on Thursday 12/10, according to the latest forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr.
Rains are expected in the Ionian and the mainland, which from noon will spread to the Aegean and Crete, where there will be sporadic storms. Snowfall will occur on the mountainous continents.
The effects will be strong in some places until morning on the mainland, then in East Macedonia, Thrace, North Aegean and East Central Greece and from afternoon in Thrace and Aegean.

Heavy rains and sporadic thunderstorms are expected in some parts of Attica, during the period from morning to early afternoon. Map 2 typically presents the expected rainfall distribution during the three hours 11:00 – 14:00 on Thursday 10/12.

Rains, sporadic thunderstorms and snowfall are expected in the mountains on Thursday, December 10, 2020. The temperature in the Ionian and mainland will drop slightly. Winds up to 6 beauforts and locally in the Aegean until noon up to 8 beauforts.
More specifically, rains are expected in the Ionian and the continent, which from noon will extend to the Aegean and Crete, where there will be sporadic storms. Snowfall will occur on the mountainous continents. Atmospheric dust concentrations will increase in the eastern continent, the Aegean and Crete. Visibility on land will be limited in some places, mainly in the mountains.
The temperature in Western Macedonia will vary from 2 to 8 degrees, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 6 to 15, in the rest of the continent from 7 to 15, in the Ionian islands from 11 to 14, in the islands of the North Aegean and Eastern from 12 to 18, in the Cyclades and Dodecanese from 14 to 19 and in Crete from 9 to 20. It is noted that the minimum temperature on the continent is expected towards the end of the twenty-four hour period.
Winds in the Aegean will initially blow from the south at 6 to 8 beauforts, but will gradually turn to the southwest at 5 to 6 beauforts. In the Ionian, the winds will blow from the southwest directions 3 to 5 and locally up to 6 Beaufort.
In Attica, sporadic showers and thunderstorms are expected at intervals, which from morning to noon will be strong in some places. Initially, the winds will blow 4 to 5 beauties in a southerly direction, but gradually they will turn to the west 2 to 4 beauforts. Atmospheric dust concentrations will be relatively high at noon. The temperature in central Athens will range from 11 to 16 degrees, with the minimum expected towards the end of the 24-hour period.
Light rains are expected in Thessaloniki from time to time. Winds will initially blow from southeast directions up to 2 to 4 beauforts, but will gradually turn south to 2 beauforts. The temperature in the city center will range between 10 and 14 degrees, with the minimum expected at the end of the twenty-four hour period.
