ESIEA announced a new 24-hour strike at television stations, the Athens / Macedonia News Agency and the General Secretariat for Information.
THE Strike which started yesterday Tuesday (12/8), the private televisions ERT, GGE and APE-MPE extended for another 24 hours.
THE ΕΣΗΕΑ has decided to continue the strike for 24 hours, until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday 10/12.

The Boards of Directors of the Federations (POESY, POEPTYM, POSPERT) in full sympathy with the Associations and primary unions in the field of Press and Media, JUST adhering to the TAX through a bill, announcing the continuation of the mobilizations of strike with a NEW 24-hour strike from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10. All the employees of the Panhellenic and Local Television Stations and their websites are participating in the strike. Also the employees in the channels, the radios and the ERT website, in APE-MPE and in GGE-GGE.
With the industry’s increased demand to strengthen the print press now darkly unanswered, the Information Industry faces another major blow to the working conditions of colleagues at TV Stations, but also of all employees of the Press, which continue to fight the daily battle of objective public information, in the unprecedented adverse conditions of the deterioration of the health crisis.
The BoD of the unions express their categorical protest at the attempted dissolution of labor relations, through a recently introduced “flexibility” model that threatens:
• catalyze the narrow core of labor relations and rights that lead to job cuts and massive layoffs,
• in an additional direct contraction in our insurance organization, with the blocking of the right to insurance for “counted” employees and, consequently, a drastic reduction in income.

WE ASK
the immediate withdrawal of all labor provisions of the bill that threaten Free Collective Bargaining and Insurance Funds, but also the right of society to reliable and valid information.
the beginning of a dialogue between the Government and all those involved, for the elaboration of an autonomous law project that will regulate all the Panhellenic and Regional Television Stations.
On this basis, the BoDs of the Federations declare a new 24-hour strike from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10 in all public and private television stations in the country , at the national and local level and on their websites, radios and ERT SA website, to APE BPE and GGE-GGE, with a request to withdraw the anti-journalistic provisions of the bill under “consultation”.
The strike excludes official information from the Ministry of Health on COVID 19 and the fellow medical authors who submit the questions.
