An announcement about the procedure followed with the journalist Costas Vaxevanis, who announced yesterday, through social networks, that he had tested positive for coronavirus, was issued by the Ministry of Health, since an article of the first had preceded Documentonews.gr where he stated, among other things, that “there is no EODY protocol relative to people who have Covid and do not live at home” and that “EODY simply gives outdated formal instructions as an answering machine, functioning like the naughty old KEELPNO with the only interest of the contracts ”.
Specifically, the announcement from the Ministry of Health says:
«According to official data from the National Public Health Organization, Mr. Vaxevanis did a rapid test in a private laboratory on November 27. Registration in the National Covid Registry was carried out just yesterday, Saturday, December 5 at 6 in the afternoon, together with a 9-day delay, under the responsibility of the laboratory.
What is extremely interesting is that this laboratory registered in the National Registry from November 27 until yesterday – in 24 hours, as it should be – seven more positive cases.
Specifically: on 11/30 a positive with DNI 111257 and sampling date 11/30/2020, on 12/01 three positives with DNI 111964, 112046, 113320 and sampling date 11/30/2020, on 12/02 a positive with DN 114967 and sampling date 12/01/2020 and 04/12/2020 two positives with ID 121939 and 121970 and sampling date 12/03/2020. Therefore, the laboratory has consistently recorded cases in the past.
As a result, the following very serious questions arise:
First, how was the other evidence recorded, except that of Mr. Vaxevanis, who complains and sneezes about errors and omissions in the trace?
Secondly, why are you in a hurry to register it at 6 pm yesterday, at the same time as the journalist’s public denunciations?
And third and most important: has Mr. Vaxevanis, knowing that he is positive for the coronavirus, comply with the quarantine requirements and take care not to expose the people who came into contact with him to danger?
Obviously, the National Transparency Authority is investigating this strange case.
It is understood that the laboratory will suffer the legal consequences of hiding the result for several days.
As for the attitude of Mr. Vaxevanis and the attempt to create false “revelations”, this time he exceeded all limits: he even used his illness.
But this does not surprise us».
Mr. Vaxevanis then responded that “the government is showing unprecedented smallness” and that it is becoming a “target even in the sickbed”, while concluding by characterizing government officials, including Vassilis Kikilias, as “amazing swabs”.

Specifically, in his declaration to the Document, he affirms:
«On Saturday afternoon I published the Editorial Document on social networks, which is my personal testimony of the battle against the coronavirus.
In the text (you can read it here) I describe the loneliness and anxiety of those who suffer from coronavirus without being in a hospital. I also wrote that while I was sick, no one from EODY called to inform me, while when I picked up the phone no one answered. I spoke about the total lack of protocols for people who get sick at home (no protection with antibiotics for infections or anti-inflammatories). I described how I stayed home without any information about what I do with my family.
From the moment of publication, in addition to the recovery wishes of thousands of people whom I thank, I have also received dozens of messages with testimonies confirming that I am not an exception but the rule.
In my testimony, he felt the need for the Ministry of Health to respond, assigning responsibilities to the diagnostic laboratory that late delivered my data to the National Center.
The government, even in a personal matter of my health, is showing unprecedented smallness. Even in the bed of illness I become a target. And the Ministry of Health, after blaming the diagnostic center, blames me for not hitting someone of mine. Where they owed us, they took our ox.
They say all this to patients, while riding their bikes and walking on the monuments for pleasure and enjoyment. I do not know what else to say.
