Cases today: The fast extension from coronavirus in our country continues, with the “black” list of of the dead grow. What EODY announced today, Sunday 06/12 about the course of the pandemic in Greece.
The data presented refer to cases of the epidemiological surveillance of the new coronavirus disease (COVID19), based on the data reported to EODY and registered until December 6, 2020 (3:00 p.m.).
There are 904 new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease, of which 5 were identified after controls at the gates of the country. The total number of cases is 115,471 (daily variation + 0.8%), of which 52.8% are men.
The new deaths of COVID-19 patients It is 101, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 3003 deaths have been registered.
The median age of the patients who died was 79 years. The number of patients treated by intubation is 600 (71.8% men).
The daily distribution of confirmed cases is as follows (the line represents the total accumulated distribution of cases).
Altogether of 115,471 cases, 4,986 (4.3%) are considered related to travel from abroad, 30,594 (26.5%) they are related to a known case and the rest are not related to travel or another known case or are still under investigation.
The average age of the cases is 43 years (range 0 to 104 years), while the average age of death is 79 years. (range from 25 to 103 years). The age distribution of (a) total cases, (b) cases that resulted in death, and (c) patients treated by intubation, is as follows:
Geographic dispersion
The map shows the geographical distribution of total COVID-19 cases (since the beginning of the epidemic) by Regional Unit of the country, based on the patient’s declared permanent address, or the address
temporary residence for tourists and other temporary residents in Greece. It includes both cases with a travel history (“imported”) and cases with possible national transmission.

Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in laboratories that test for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically declare to EODY the total of the samples they control, a total of 2479161 clinical samples have been analyzed while 264490 samples have been analyzed by EODY Health Units and Stairs that perform Rapid Ag tests.
