The perpetrator of the vandalism of Jewish monuments was arrested

Larissa’s security sub-directorate filed a case against a person for causing damage to a monument and to the compound of the Israeli community in the city of Larissa.

In particular, according to the police investigation, on the afternoon of Thursday 3 December the perpetrator spray painted slogans using both a monument and the fence of the Israeli community of Larissa.

The perpetrator was located by police officers from the Tempi Police Department on Saturday morning in the greater area of ​​the Municipality of Tempi and in his possession two aerosols were found, which were confiscated.

He filed against the crimes of damage to the property of others with the aggravating circumstance of the crime with racist characteristics and the violation of the law on racism.

In addition, administrative fines imposed for failure to comply with measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus were imposed.

The file will be sent to the Larissa Prosecutor’s Office, while the preliminary investigation will be carried out by the Larissa Security Sub-Directorate.
