A store of health interest, in which it was played illegally and operated in violation of the measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, was located in the center of Athens, by the Economic Police Directorate.

According to ELAS, during the control at the “mini-casino”, the temporary manager, a “tsiliadoros” and two players who participated in illegal games were arrested. At the same time, three more people were found – customers inside the store, for whom there was no participation in illegal games.

A case was opened against those detained for spontaneous gambling, while the case against the temporary responsible includes a violation of the legislation on prevention of diseases and personal data, as well as a violation of the seals established by the Authority.

It is observed that the file also includes, as a co-defendant for the same crimes, the owner of the store who was absent during the inspection and is sought for his arrest.

The detainees, the owner and the customers of the store were fined a total of 13,100 euros, for illegal exploitation of a store of health interest in violation of the laws of protection of public health, for violations of the measures to prevent and spread the coronavirus and unnecessary travel.

According to ELAS, in the store, 11 gaming machines were found and seized, without permission from the competent authority, 2 outdoor surveillance cameras, a wireless remote control and 125 euros. The detainees, with the file against them, were transferred to the competent Prosecutor’s Office.
