The Ministry of Development aims to open retail stores during the holidays, but if there is a crowd, they will have to close again.
To avoid holidays, the Minister of Public Works, Ad. Georgiadis, who was quick to reveal the ministry’s goals to open all retail trade during this period, in stages, 3-4 days apart.
Although the recommendations of the Committee of Scientists have not yet been made public, the government is launching the “save Christmas” operation even though we still do not have a clear picture of how to reduce infections in the community from the pandemic.
With the stores with purely Christmas items opening on Monday (07/12), the next objective is to reopen, in stages (to avoid overcrowding), and other service or retail stores with the latest commercial stores.
“Stores will reopen 3-4 days apart,” (SKAI) Ad said. Georgiadis warns that if crowded scenes are recorded, there will be no other possibility and they will have to close again. “We will not risk the spread of the coronavirus at the most critical point,” he said.
The minister presented the roadmap saying that “we are waiting for the green light from the Commission to open it” and explained that “there is no time to open it every week” announcing its reopening “every 3-4 days”.
He also said that hairdressers, toy stores, bookstores and florists will precede. “So, if everything goes well and we work with them open for 3-4 days and we see that things are under control and the measures are mainly observed, we will go to the rest of the retail trade,” he stressed. He clarified that he, as Minister of Development, plans to open all retail trade during the holidays, “because it is a great loss for a company not to work during this period.
As you said, the malls in the tiered row are the last to open. The smaller stores will open first and then the larger ones. However, the shopping centers must also open the holidays ”, he clarified.
Finally, he said that those who violate the measures, will not only be fined, but will automatically close and remain closed during the holidays.
► If the planning of the Ministry of Development is implemented, we must wait for the opening of education first, since a few days ago the government spokesperson stated in the same channel that it is safer to open education and then retail. Unless we have another government inconsistency.
